The Temples of Dea Roma and Divus Julius Caesar

There used to be two temples between the Prytaneum (town hall) and Odeon (Concert hall). They were Imperial Cult erected in the 1C AD with the permission of Augustus in honor of his adoptive father Julius Caesar, and of Rome. The Imperial Cult never became a true religion.

They aimed to have good relationship with emperors and flatter. There was an altar serving the worship of Artemis and Augustus.
