Day 1
05:00 Depart from your hotel for the flight to Erzurum.
07: 10 Flight departs for Erzurum.
09: 10 Arrive in Erzurum.
City Tour of Erzurum, Drive to Çifte Minareli Medrese located
beside the Tabriz Gate, the eldest of the city's standing gates.
Sources indicate that Medrese was built in 1253.
Visit Yakutiye Medresesi. This building was constructed in 1310
on behalf of Hodja Cemalettin Yakut, during the reign of Olcayto
Hudabende.
Lunch will be served in a local restaurant.
Visit Ahmediye Medresesi. This unique covered Medrese structure
was originally built in 1314 by Alioglu Ahmed. Visit the tomb of
Üç Kümbetler built around the end of the 13th Century.
The city tour will end at approximately 15:00 o'clock. Drive to
Kars. Arrive in Kars at approximately 19:00.

Day 2
Breakfast
09:00 City tour of Kars. Visit Ani, the old capital city
of Armenia. Ani is located 45 kilometers from Kars at the point
where the Arpa river delimits the border with Armenia and
Turkey.
12:00 Lunch served in the hotel.
13:30 Drive to Dogubayazit via Vigor & Igdir. Along the
way stop at traditional Turkish vi1lages. Excellent photo
opportunities!
17:00 Arrive to Dogubayazit. Dinner & overnight stay in
hotel.

Day 3
Breakfast
08:30 Visit Ishakpasa Palace built in 1784 as a combined
castle and palace. This site was specially selected to control
the trade route between Iran and Anatolia.
Witness the beauty of Mt. Ararat. Mt. Ararat, Turkey's highest
mountain rising 5165m is of particular biblical importance being
the traditional resting place of Noah's Ark. |

The lower Lesser Ararat (3925m) is also nearby.
Visit the second largest meteor hole of the world after the one
in Alaska close to the Iranian border.
Lunch will be served in the hotel.
Drive onto Van via Muradiye waterfalls. Excellent photo
opportunities.
16:00 Arrive in Van, the former capital (Tushpa) of the
Urartian Kingdom.
Visit Van Castle, the original settlement called Tilki Tepe
built in the 9th Century B.C by Sarduri I.
Dinner & overnight stay in Yakut Hotel.

Day 4
Breakfast
09:00 Visit Cavustepe, once called 'Sardurihinili'
meaning "The City of Sarduri" after the founder and Urartian
king Sarduri II. Visit Hoşap Castle, located at a strategic
point on the site of an Urartian fortress with magnificent views
of the region. The castle was built in 1643 by Shah Suleyman,
one of the princes of the Mahmudi Tribe.
Drive to the shores of Lake Van and take a ferry to Akdamar
Island.
Lunch will be provided on the island. Visit the church of
Akdamar built in 915 by Gagik I. A visit of Van Museum will
conclude the day's sightseeing.
Dinner & overnight stay in Yakut Hotel.

Day 5
Breakfast.
Drive to Diyarbakir via Tatvan.
Visit Ahlat situated on the northwestern shore of Lake Van. Here
you have the chance to see beautiful examples of conical tombs
and richly-decorated gravestones from the Seljuk period.
Lunch will be served in Tatvan.
Continue to Diyarbakir via Bitlis.
17:00 Arrive in Diyarbakir the ancient city with history
reaching as far back as the Early
Stone Age.
Visit the Diyarbakir City Wall, which is the longest and
best-preserved wall in the
World today after the Great Wall of China.
Dinner & overnight stay in Kervansaray Hotel.

Day 6
Breakfast.
Visit Ulu Cami, one of the oldest mosques in Anatolia. The
Church of Mar-Toma once occupied the site but in 639, Diyarbakir
was taken over by Muslim armies and the church was converted
into a mosque.
Free time to wander the streets and visit the old bazaar.
Lunch provided in a local restaurant.
Transfer to the airport for the flight to Istanbul.
