Priene was one of the most
active ports of Ionian Federation. The grid-like system of the
streets introduced in the 4th century BC by Hippodromes of Miletos
is a super example of city planning. It is the only Greek city
established on the Acropolis, boasting its famous theatre. Carry on
to Milet, passing white cotton fields. Milet was a great Ionian port
too, also it is the birth place of many philosophers and sages. The
theatre itself justifies a visit. Also visiting the great Temple of
Apollo in Didyma.
